Instructor

Denna Haslett, RN, is an E-500 RYT with the Yoga Alliance. She founded Grounded Soul Yoga in 2016 and opened her studio in 2017 to share her love of wellness with the community. She discovered the benefits of healing through movement when she began her journey to Wholeness over 25 years ago.

This ongoing journey of exploring what it means to have a healthy mind, body, and spirit inspired her to begin her career in Wellness as a Group Exercise Instructor at a local YMCA. She studied to become a Personal Trainer and a Wellness Coach/Coordinator. Her goal was to make wellness accessible and to support others on their path to wellness. This led her to broaden her scope of practice in 2013 when she studied and started practicing as a Registered Nurse. Denna practiced yoga and other movement modalities to integrate self-care after caring for others as an RN, wife, daughter, and mom.

In 2017, she completed the 200-hour yoga certification at Yoga One studio in Cedarburg, WI. While continuing to develop her yoga practice, she discovered the benefits of healing the past wounds of personal trauma through yoga. In 2020, she completed the 300-hour Trauma Center Trauma Sensitive Yoga Certification (TCTSY) at the Center for Trauma and Embodiment in Boston, MA. In 2024, she increased her capacity to serve by becoming a Minister of Spiritual Consciousness at the Inner Visions Institute of Spiritual Development (IVISD) under the tutelage of Rev. Dr. Iyanla Vanzant.

She provides nursing advocate support and trauma-sensitive yoga to private clients through the Milwaukee County Comprehensive Community Services (CCS) program. She facilitates client-centered private, group, and corporate classes focusing on self-care. She offers an equitable, inclusive, integrative health, and holistic approach to her yoga/wellness classes. Her heartfelt intention is to assist individuals with identifying, developing, and practicing mind, body, emotional, and spiritual wellness.
